As a single mom, my life is busy. I’m always on the lookout for things to make my life easier without sacrificing our values. 5 things single moms need
My Top Five

Dry Erase Weekly Calendar Sticker – Every week, I post our schedule. Who has to be where, at what time, etc. It’s stopped us from missing appointments or “double-booking” many times. The sticker calendar does not get knocked off the refrigerator and no one uses it as a magnet for hiding important papers.

Travel Coffee Mug – How many times have you poured yourself a drink and then heard the dryer buzzer go off. Or you have a meeting to run to and leave your cup on your desk. An hour or two later, you remember that drink. Now you get to enjoy the lukewarm beverage. Yay.  This will keep your hot drink hot for at least 5 hours and twice as long for a cold drink. Even when I’m home, I’m using this.

Sling Backpack Purse – I’ve used several different purses over the years and the backpack that doubles as a purse is my favorite. It leaves my hands free. When the kids were toddlers, this was a key selling point. The nice thing about this purse is that it works for shopping and for the outdoors. My phone is handy, it will hold a water bottle, along with all the other crap moms have to have handy. Tons of pockets to keep things organized and it’s water resistant. (key for the Pacific Northwest!)

Grown-Up Wagon – If you’re a gardener, you know how much stuff you have to haul around. Dirt, weeds, pavers, cement blocks, plants, bushes, and so on. You can carry it by hand, making multiple trips or you can pile it in this wagon and get done faster. These are tough, can carry a lot of weight and are easier to maneuver than a wheelbarrow. Put a piece of cardboard down to carry loose dirt or gravel.

Subscribe & Save – Huge time saver! Let’s face it, there are things that we have to buy on a regular basis. If I can get commonly used items delivered to my house, on a regular basis, without having to go to a store, I’m doing it. As a single mom, my life was changed for the better by diaper delivery. I was hooked! Now, I have things like pet foods, cleaning supplies and specialty foods delivered right to my door.

What makes your life easier? I’m always looking for ideas!
