Every morning I wake up with a to-do list on my mind. Some days the list is done and some days, it’s forgotten two minutes after I’ve walked out the door. That’s just the way it works sometimes.

The end of this month has been a busy one. We’ve traveled across the state twice – once with massive amounts of holiday traffic. 12-hour drive? Just what I signed up for!  There’s also been a lot of projects at work. They will start winding down on Friday, but I do get the joy of two field trips before everything is over. Luckily, only one has a long bus ride; I get so carsick on these things.

Speaking of sick, seasonal allergies kicked my butt and I spent an entire weekend fighting off a sinus infection. I’m still healing from pulled oblique muscles thanks to another house project. Fun times.

The garden is growing and the chickens are doing well. We had an incident with some loose dogs attempting to eat through the wood of the chicken coop while we were across the state, but luckily the wood held together and the chickens seem to be ok. I’m hoping to have a larger and stronger chicken yard up around the coop this weekend. In the meantime, we built a woven wood fence out of branches in hopes that it will at least give them a second thought about going in for the kill.

In the meantime, I’m working on a post about a wonderful event I attended with my daughter. It was an amazing night and well worth the months of waiting!
